Perhaps everyone has a dream destination, a place that has lived in their imagination for a long time. It is this way for me and Japan. Most of my adult life I have wanted to go and it seems that now is the time. The real test will be when I step onboard that Japan Airlines flight in Seattle and disembark finally in the land of the rising sun.
My header image is a classical work of Chinese or Japanese art. It establishes the natural world as the landscape in which the human traveller is but an almost insignificant part. That would be me, crossing the bridge over turbulent waters.
(I could not locate attribution for the artwork. I imagine the artist continues to wander in the dim reaches of the remote past.)

I have another site that you can find at “InCascadia.net.” Here, you will find poetry that I’ve written or, as one “friend” delightfully called it, “sentimental bullshit.” Fair enough. But, I’m happy with it so it will remain.
